Als musikalisches Highlight des DeColonia LAB erwartet uns eine gemeinsame Performance von vier Künstler:innen aus Köln und Chennai: Keshav Purushotham, Ramesh Shotham, Naresh Purushotham und Sahana Naresh bringen persönliche Geschichten, familiäre Verbindungen und musikalische Traditionen zusammen. Zwischen Jazz, südindischer Klassik, Elektronik und Indie-Pop entsteht ein vielschichtiger Sound, in dem Instrumente wie Veena und Tavil mit digitalen Klängen und E-Gitarren verwoben werden – selbstbewusst, zeitgenössisch und im Zeichen einer dekolonialen Perspektive.

Das Konzert findet im Rahmen der Veranstaltung DeColonia LAB statt.

Die Rahmenveranstaltung DeColonia LAB bringt kreative Ausdrucksformen mit Community-Building zusammen. Ausstellung, Tanz, Musik, Film, Paneltalk und Workshop eröffnen dabei vielfältige Blicke auf dekoloniale und postmigrantische Perspektiven. Lokal verankert, global inspiriert – von Köln bis in die Welt.

DeColonia LAB ist ein kleiner Anfang einer großen Idee: Ein regelmäßig stattfindendes Festival für transkulturelle Kreativität, welches gemeinschaftlich verwirklicht wird. Somit versteht sich dieser Auftakt auch als Plattform und Netzwerktreffen für (post-)migrantische Initiativen aus Köln und darüber hinaus.
